  1. I'm gonna look into this cute "Watch Drive for Russians" thing Seattle did. Examples of historical, popular support for socialism are rife in the Pacific Northwest, yet people today are often shocked to hear stories like this when I tell them. A classic example is that of the Everett Massacre of November 5, 1916, where local cops and their "deputized" goons murdered a bunch of Wobblies. We must reestablish the link between common interest and socialist policies in the fringes of the core of empire, and frankly, the Northwest is probably the most primed region for this kind of awakening―especially since that process is well underway already, and since leftist sentiments never fully faded here the way they may have to a greater extent elsewhere (see the WTO Riots of 1999 and the current sitting of Socialist Alternative Kshama Sawant on the Seattle City Council). The media doesn't commemorate the anniversary of the Everett Massacre, of course
