@greywolf7422 You seem to think otherwise, you seem to think merely knowing this one story of the USSR is enough to misguide people against communism, even though there isn't a communist who isn't familiar with it. You are using grade school-level Red Scare tactics to spit upon Communism, as if the liquidation of the Kulaks was somehow Communism's most defining act (but the Trail of Tears doesn't reflect at all on Capitalism, right?). You're evincing deliberate anti-revolutionary sentiment based upon right wing talking points not founded entirely in the facts. You know of the Kulaks, as do I, yet you think merely informing people about that incident is indictment enough of communism. That surface-level counter-propaganda seems all you know, if you're so concerned with misguiding minds away from the better path. Again, be less the sophomore and more the senior: We know about the Kulaks, and we're still here

Without committing whataboutism, you already know that capitalism and fascism have managed to commit those selfsame atrocities, so why is it better to putt around under these systems currently committing atrocities than it is to move on from them while learning from the atrocities of former socialist experiments? You claim not to demand perfection, and I believe you: You're evidently comfortable with capitalism, after all. If you're looking for some sort of "Third Solution", Fascism is right over there―you can join the rest of the anti-communists hanging out there, I'm sure your claim to be leftist will make a huge difference. Seriously, you've told us what you don't want, and I think most would agree that genocide is obviously undesirable (and fuck anyone who disagrees). But what is it you do want, then? Because if you offer nothing but criticisms, what makes you any different from any other right winger, any other capitalist? Also, democracy and communism can indeed go hand in hand. Also also, Human Rights are a myth created by the state of the exact same variety as the Divine Right of Kings: "God" apparently grants "inalienable rights" to people, but the state moderates those rights on god's behalf I guess, and can grant them one year and strip them away the next. It's all nonsense used to prop up the ruling class with religious authority. Humanity needs no bourgeois-certified "rights" in order to be free from exploitation or to have accesses to lifesaving medical care, etc

This is just a defensive repackaging of the same nonsense rhetoric. "I'm not being dishonest by thoroughly denouncing communism: Honesty demands communism be throughly denounced!" You are a capitalist. Capitalists are not on the left, period. You care about the blood of a few billionaires more than you do about the blood of a few billion. You are obviously privileged to hold a positive view of capitalism and to think that it can be tweaked to your benefit, and you either don't understand or don't care about the human cost your system would demand

Even under communism, dissent will still be necessary for the maintenance of any semblance of democracy. The Socialist Revolution is the People's Revolution, it is for them. It must therefore be democratic, if obviously not liberal in the way bourgeois republics are run. Anarchists are unlikely to lose their usefulness so quickly in my estimation

Dissent is not only key to combating that, but a world free of dissent is a world drenched in oppression and violence. We have learned better

@DammitBobby I'm not out to dismiss leftist accomplishments, but it kinda sounds like that's exactly what a lot of leftists want to do regarding anarchists. The Paris Commune failed for the exact same reason Sankar and others like Allende had their work dashed to different degrees: Due to the hatred and violence of right wingers. Calling the Commune a failure for being massacred reminds me too much of the way boneheads spit on democratic socialist experiments all over the world that were likewise destroyed by fascist organizations like the CIA Love the pfp and username btw lol
