  4.  @anonymousperson6642  Exactly, and that's because the powers that be would rather criminalize poverty than actually treat the houseless like the human beings and neighbors they are. Most of the money that goes "to the homeless problem" just ends up being spent on law enforcement brutalizing and shoving the houseless around, very little of it actually ends up directly getting to those in need in the form of much-needed goods or services. Also, our tax system is whack—we're cool with a 10%+ sales tax that slows spending and punishes the poor, but we're apparently opposed to taxing the mega-corporations that live in our domain their fair share. I say "their fair share" because, meanwhile, those same corporations are driving up housing prices and running poorer families out of their homes. Lot of different issues at play in Seattle—but few of them are issues KOMO is interested in actually addressing honestly
