@LanaUSA212 While there is much to love about living in Cascadia, I do not enjoy living in a society where people treat their neighbors like a plague. Frankly, I don't know how grown adults can behave this way and not feel deeply ashamed of themselves. Shame on selfish, ignorant villains who treat their fellow human beings so terribly, and who rely upon the violent police to "sweep" their neighbors out of sight and out of mind. Shame on all who see the increasing inhumanity of our Late Capitalist world and who blame it on the poorest and weakest in society, rather than on the Bezoses and other aristocrats who are bleeding our cities and our entire country dry.
Three families own more than 50% of American wealth. Hundreds of thousands of Americans live and die in the streets. Tens of millions more are one or two paychecks away from the same fate. And you think "leftist government" is the problem? You speak of delusions―how will you respond when I remind you that Cuba has nearly zero homelessness, because housing is treated as a right, not a privilege? Will you declare yourself pro-homelessness because it's an identifying and contrasting trait of "rich" societies like ours?
So many people just don't give a shit. They hear things like this and they just plug their ears. They cry "commie", offer zero help, and move to Maine. Well, good riddance
