@namm0x326 Nobody called the coronavirus pandemic "apocalyptic", but it does need to be taken seriously. I only really see accusations of hyperbole coming from anti-mask, anti-vaxxer types. Pandemics need to be taken seriously, no mistake was made in overstating Covid-19

@iwatchwithnoads7480 Yeah, that's the other thing. People of little understanding or awareness often mistake genuinely important statements are nonsense or hyperbole. Saying something like "Modern American police are descended directly from the slave catching industry, and it shows" may sound like hyperbole to some who've never heard it, but it's a matter of fact

@stanislausklim7794 Except many American institutions we've grown up with are genuinely and clearly founded in racism, we've just been okay with that for so long that many people can't even see it anymore and just think it's "normal"
