  2. America is the most powerful Empire the world has ever known with an occupying army of cops descended from the Slave Catching Industry enforcing the rule of the aristocracy. A black man has a 1 in 1,000 chance of being shot to death by a cop in his lifetime, and literally a mere three families own more than 50% of all American wealth. And that's the tip of the iceberg. There's a lot to hate here. You could argue that those of us who stick around to tear down these wicked systems actually love "America" more than those who have corrupted it so, but ultimately, that's just rhetoric. My point is there are countless good reasons for a wise, empathetic, and educated person to hate America, or at least much the hideousness that defines it, and trying to separate "America" from all these things is an exercise in whitewashing
