  1. It would have been much better from the point of view of Ukraine 's interests to have given self rule to Donbass in 2022 and thus preserve the country. Since then, Ukraine has lost additional 3 oblasts beside Lugansk and Donetsk. Currently, out of 15 trillion worth of rare minerals, cca 13 are in Russia controlled territory. This is a negative consequence of the war even for Ukraine 's western allies.
