I'm a 57 aussie and we use to sing God save the queen first thing in the morning Everyone where lined up in rows line military on a parade ground A roll call names ticked of then sing God save the queen before classes could start This happened every day but sometimes in future it stopped when they changed our anthem

From what I was told Australia wasn't at war with Japan when they bombs Darwin Why their wasn't any defence allowed them to fly straight in bomb Darwin due to American ships as well as Aussies moored their so Japanese used surprise attack which started the war I'm not 100% confident in this only what I vaguely remember over time
