In Australia 🇦🇺 we have driving lessons it regulated by the hrs in a log book that needs to be signed off You have a mix of professional driving instructors Then you can do a certain ammount with a full licence driver generally family members and they have to sign off the timeas well Once you got the hrs up on both then you can book a driving test and most don't pass first time It costs thousands of dollars and then your licence has restrictions on them every year for 4yrs before getting full licence In my brothers day you use to go to cop stations drive him around then he'd issue's a licence One of my brother's was told to do a u-turn and mounted the curb and almost took out a telephone 📞 box Scared the shit out the cop he made him drive back to station only after a couple minutes Mind you he got his licence from the cop back then We all believe cop gave him licence as didn't want to get in a car with him again 😊😂 But as in earlier statement it's all changed and costs thousands with restrictions on your licence Also restrictions of horse power of vechiles no turbo vechiles or V8 either and certain 6 cylinders We renew our licence every 5yrs you pay hundred's and have to go in as we have photo id on licence So every 5yrs you need to renew the photo from motor registration department Our government's advertise driving isn't a right But it's a privilege and why the fines and impounding of vechiles on infringements If your excessive speed they crush the vechiles
