In Australia π¦πΊ we run 240 volt Power point has a switch and when on it has a red line on switch to show its on which they didn't seem to have Our plugs come out like your plugs so when you trip they pull out so you don't fall and if stand on don't have problem they do Our .ugs used to be like theirs where you could service them but so many people did dodgy repair resulting in fires they are now sealed like your plugs Foe size they'd be in between both of them but similar set up to yours We don't have shutters on ours as you turn power off before plugging into power points We also have circuit breakers on main b power boards to house from power lines that trip in mills seconds You can't just go and flick a switch on circuit breaker to operate again if there's a fault it'll automatically trip immediately The reason we have on power boards that feed the home is if there's a spike in power line it'll trigger the circuit breakers So it dosent spike your appliances or fry the wiring in the house but it also works for power points in home and lights as well Generally only time they trip is using heavy welder or short in a appliances other than of power pole which can be caused by animals shorting out on power wires or lightning is another All new homes have to be done this way and most homes if you do any major up grades like fitting air conditioning They are changing them from power companies to older homes as like mine they came and done change meter to smart meter they don't need someone to come out and read the meter for bill they can read from business office as done with wi fi and can cut power off if they want when large draw on power and power grid collapses Why they warn people to turn off air con or heating in heavy power times and if people don't they just shut the meter down fro office Now our solar and battery systems are set up the same way if generating too much power and grid can't handle they shut solar down also when power on high demand they will access your battery and take the power while your solar replaces it and you get payed for power they take Only problem they screw you over pay you 4 to 6 cents now a kilowatt but sell it even to you at 37 to 50 cents a kilowatt Yet you spend out many thousands of dollar to set systems up 6 grand for panels and 10 grand for small battery Hope this help cheers mate π¦π¦πΊπ
