Pommy's been making aluminium vechiles from 50s that I know of as we had here in Australia 🇦🇺 rover 90 where made from it suicide doors Surprisingly very comfortable car and many vechiles of this era like jaguar all the chrome was brass underneath and door frames solid brass Very heavy but why the chrome was good and lasted so long Also many other pommy car makers used light wieght brass for chrome like headlight bezels and moulds around front back windows Old cars where all quality back then Our military still use land rovers even dual rear wheels 6x6 drive ones They just auction of a heap of them with 25 ,000 miles on them Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
