They got the monaro wrong model The one isn't same they show what was know as HQ monaro But it's actually based of earlier models HK/T/G which ran for 3 years in that shape With various pages auto manual 6 cyc V8 253 holden 327 /350 chev engines and where called GTS also had Bathurst model The HQ monaro they show is a GTS model But came in SS models which is why I think he reference them as same by name They ran same engine gearbox packages as earlier models So if you look up Australian HT OR HG monaro you'll see what I mean Personally I think ours looked better light and front grill looked better but other then cosmetic differences they where the same car They had to change to pass their road regulations Because of price people where buying them back importanting them in from south Africa As could buy less then 20 grand compared here 100,000 to 150,000 then they change cosmetic back to aussie versions as most parts where interchangeable but only worth halve the value once done As reg and identification was south African and only way you could tell and couldn't be changed I can't remember but think NZL got them as well

Tib bit for you You 68 to 70 model charger We had equivalent it was called a coupe Same she'll but smaller version with a different front package and rear lights The front on your charger was similar to earlier valiant car here the grill was different but rest was the same Some used to put that front on our coupes then it looked like a small version of your charger I'm a chrysler owner always had one my whole life since able to drive I own a 65 chrysler AP6 valiant Reagal V8 it was the first Australian made and built V8 in Australia They are a 4 door version of early American barracuda with the big back window Run 273 torque flight trans on drum brakes no power steering like the barracuda which had disc brake power steering Again cosmetic differences We had earlier models but the parts came from USA and assembled here in my home town Adelaide until they closed up in 80s Alot of the earlier models where designed on what you'd call a Plymouth in 60s to 70s and we called the A bodies models The next models where bigger still not as large as your models ans they where call B models As alot of parts through a models was interchangeable same for B models most of them where interchangeable for that series The Aussie charger is classed as B body series The car I own they is belif only around a thousand V8 models made but as chrysler dumped all their records it hard to get a exact amount only what people say they've see mine is 975 from memory so close to last of them as chrysler stamped flat part of inner wing under bonnet / hood what number of the line it was these are rare they did make a wagon version and think even less of those Chrysler valiant are rare here as they sold the lest amount due to people saying heavy on fuel You want power you have to pay and they go for ever never stop lots of torque I had them where so many miles on them smoking like a train out breather and needed to pull no 1 plug out clean oil off and start every time for a week just don't die Hope this helps and you enjoy the information Cheers mate π¦π¦πΊπ
