Here in Australia π¦πΊ 50 model cars used to be only red light and never even had flashing brake lights You used to use hand signals Then laws change and manufacturers used to put a amber indicator between the two door recessed in body When activated they stick out and start flashing But any vechiles before hand had to mount after market orange indicator units on back of vechiles They operated but after market indicator stick as wasn't one on vechiles when manufactured These use to have a colour lens on the end of stick that flashed when operating to remind driver to turn them off after turn was completed Many very early trucks had this systems and they where mounted to steering column by a clamp like a radiator hose clamp If you see the very first Holden build they never had indicators and only one tail light / brake light none flashing in 1948 but after that model they had factory fitted indicators and earlier vechiles had to fit the after market one as spoken above We also have different laws for headlights and seat belts then you guys in USA Because if import a vechile in to the country there are a list of changes we have to make to get them registered light and seatbelts are two others difference Cheers mate π¦π¦πΊπ
