Atleast you where up front and showed it wasn't quite right Didn't get perfect but still posted So cheers to you guys for your integrity Unlike the cooking shows they bugger it up do a retake If you want easy way is buy a sponge cake made then cut up and coat It's the same thing or just follow sponge cake recipe Yes their is a distinct difference in chef's from food and baking and why specialist in both area's same with chocolate makers They spend years learning just either one they don't specialise in both it's one or other Baking is quite different skill and funny thing is a lot of guys seem better at baking Also with baking it's precise you can't play around with it like normal food cooking All ingredients and amounts have to be exact ingredients and amounts you'll see they will use a knife to scrape level the ingredients If says sift 3 times you must same when folding is to stop loosing the lightness and raising of cake if over fold they don't rise But you didn't do that it was mixed right wasn't over mixed To fold normally hold bowl 45 degree angle while wiping from bottom to top then it runs from top to bottom mixing along the way quicker and less whipping of batter keeping air in batter Hope this helps and lady on you tube called Anna bakes she's a cake pastry chef and has shows on it and even said has failures sometimes and showed a couple that didn't go quite right So do be hard on yourself she a trained professional and still can have issues Daniel keep doing the shows we love watching Also we can learn how to cook your types of food as well from you some day Cheers guys π¦π¦πΊπ
