  9. I think all generations are pretty much the same except is defined by what is happening around them and those that lived through bad times would’ve rather not lived through it regardless how future generations might make it sound good.

  21. I think every culture/generation has different concepts of beauty which might look terrible to others but was desired by the group they grew up in. Just like now many places various cosmetic surgery is done but might’ve looked horrible to earlier people.

  23. I think a lot of people (especially men) opting out of work is like he said (although I don’t agree with he says) because of social reasons. Older People without marriage and/or children have decided that they can live with less and not work as much or as hard.

  24. Yeah especially in the rural areas. Maybe sort of same reasons why many rural areas of US is most Nationalist even if they are poor. China government of course likes to also broadcast any bad news happening overseas especially in the USA.

  27. Probably as long as each member counted on each other for jobs or survival then the tighter the connections is. Right now in much of the developed or developing world it’s shameful to ask for assistance from own relatives which might be a reason the society became more wealthy.

  33. Don’t know about other countries but China’s lockdown measures were the most extreme which is why they solved the virus 🦠 issue the fastest. Not say it’s good or bad though.

  37. But can a country be heavily religious and be successful in creating wealth (not by natural resources)? For example My friend says India can not be a developed country because it is too religious and I think heavily Islamic countries also can’t develop since very religious. Also the middle/dark ages Europe didn’t do so well when it was religious.

  43. It’s becoming much less likely now then even before of a small country rising up and conquering other countries to become big enough to become superpower since the big ones won’t allow it. The most a medium size country can aspire to become is a economic power (maybe like Japan/Germany). Only large countries (size and population) that become wealthy and tech advanced like USA maybe China can still have segments of the population that is pro military/fighting culture.

I think without a tight family structure (like in US and maybe other parts of developed world) people will op out from working a meaningless job if what they have to sustain themselves to the end or have enough government support to do it which is what is happening post COVID among the more elderly work force.
