  1. Gross Actually I think all legal immigrants that qualified to get into the United States have similar traits/education/skills since all face same requirements to immigrate. Your right though that it is ignored since it would go against the popular racism view. I also think that the model minority view might slowly disappear as later generations become assimilated into the American lifestyle.

  2. groolchick2 Actually I’ve read someplace that African Immigrants & their children are as successful financially/education...as Asian Immigrants. I think all legal immigrants that qualified to get into the United States have similar traits/education/skills since all face same requirements to immigrate.

  3. For better or worse I think this stereotype will slowly disappear as future generations (3rd, 4th...) becomes assimilated with the American lifestyle. Also since many more recent immigrants are different then the earlier ones who were allowed in because of skill/education. Some will be children of rich overseas parents, some will come to USA on family/relative immigration (so not most educated/skilled of their country....) and other reasons.

  4. groolchick2 racism does exist for better or worse stereotypes in every country but in the USA at least it is a hurdle that can be surpassed. First generation immigrants feel that getting in or the huddles they meet at their original country is much harder than any racism that they meet. The problem is that Future generations (3rd, 4th...) of African immigrants will gravitate toward black culture which blames racism for most of their society woes....Asians communities (I’m 2nd generation ABC) are too small so later generations more gravitate/assimilate toward white culture for better or worse. Future generations some might be even more educated but will not be willing to struggle/endure as much. P.S. Also as in recent decades as more and more immigrants (at least Asian) come from family relations visa the quality has gone down.
