Their countries were already failures way before colonizers came in and in todays world, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan are blessing their colonisers. Their awful living conditions are the result of their once again own atrocious civilizational choices letting their demography soar before their economy. Indeed m8, many prosperous nations like Malaysia, Australia, the USA, Germany and Sweden are victims of nearby predatory overpopulated nations.
