2:18 How is "driving low incomes out" a downside ? This is literally how Paris was designed in order to avoid flocks of communist predators to settle in the city.

🤣😂🤣 Mean but accurate, the host is Dutch which explains why he talks so much about his country.

Singapore is not that pretty but the greenery helps covering up the minimalist style 🌲🌲🌳🌳🌲🌲🌳🌳🌲🌲

To help Americans feeling less remorseful on that topic we have to remind ourselves that the European style itself could be traced back straight to Egypt. Early New York gothic/eclectic skyscrapers the likes of those from Louis Sullivan or the Chrysler building were off a good start when it comes to tall metropolitan areas. Louis Sullivan actually designed his very own style of ornamentation that could not be found back in Europe; it is just a shame that one of his famous student threw a tantrum. Now on the more common 5 stories tall buildings, they still hold some potential as we have entered into the composite facades era, it would just require to remove those ugly panels and replace them with any carved style we'd want. Also, there is an American company called Monumental Labs currently using automation to drastically lower the cost of sculpted stone.

In short : Overpopulation leads to communism which leads to a neverending cycle of quick and ugly blocks for eternity like ants 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜

Art Deco was dropped when communists took over most occidental nations right after the big wars. Communists despised ornamentation as they perceived it as a sign of aristocracy and bourgeoisie. They were also facing in parallel the consequences of sudden overpopulation so they had no choice but to build quick and sleek. Then the Americas discovered that they could also increase their economic growth by simplifying their own buildings as well at the price of having no taste. Art Deco still requires a lot of craftsmanship which a couple companies like "Monumental Labs" are trying to tackle with robotics to drastically lower the cost of ornamentation. Most architects from the past century and this one were simply arrogant commies and peasants so they never had any taste to begin with.

That is called an utopia

Most urbanistically ideal european cities were built overtime during an era where prestige and elegance was the main concern whereas the Americas had to quickly design their cities for economic growth so this is like comparing oranges to apples.
