  1. Franco in the times of the Civil War was the lesser evil compared with some of his opponents. For sure he was better than the communists, who were mainly staunch stalinists (plus some trockists).

  2.  @absinthexiii4376  He was. You might be oblivious what stalinism meant. Post-war Spain was a paradise compared with stalinist Russia.
