  3. Wow. Pure professionalism. AEIOU ! One linguistic remark: it is not "Scharkiw" (as pronounced by a German speaker) nor "Sharkiv" (as pronounced by an English speaker). The cyrillic X (at the beginning of this city's name) is an aspirated h, like in the German "Sicht". The same goes for Cherson. Generally if you want to pronounce transliterations as an English speaker would, rely on transliterations into English. In this case Kharkiv. Which is imperfect, yet closer to the original than "Scharkiw".

  5.  @ixydelay5644  First of all: The German transliteration of Харьков (Russian), Харків (Ukrainian) is Charkow, Charkiw. There is no separate German name for this city. Unlike Breslau for Wrocław, Königgrätz for Hradec Králové or Moskau for Москва. Having established that let me instruct you, how the German terms Charkow, Charkiw are properly pronounced at their beginning: As an aspirated German h, like in "ich" or "Sicht". NOT like the German "sch" / English "sh". Just consult the Duden. If you ever heard about it. Side remark: Pronouncing Ch as "sch"/"sh" does occur in some German dialects. But for your information - Wiener Neustadt (from where this officer speaks) is not located in Brandenburg, nor in any other Piefke region, where people will casually pronounce China as "Schina"/"Shina". Nor is an Austrian colonel supposed to speak in any regional dialect when appearing in a public video.
