Exactly, RC. Interpreting this as a vote for re-unification totally ignores the many polls done that clearly express that they have no such interest. In fact, they're more certain then ever they won't want any part of China considering what they've done in Hong Kong, and what they're doing with their zero covid policy on the mainland.

@Katya_Lastochka [And no one said that.] You're going to have to be more specific. I don't know what "that" you're referring to. [The point is that the Taiwanese people arent demanding independence or in fear of invasion. Thats been a persistent western narrative.] In terms of independence, that's true. In fact the younger generation who doesn't remember what the old China was like were more luke warm about it -- that is until the more recent events in China. Their feelings about an invasion have probably also waned but that's less clear. Having said that, they've threatened to invade since Mao and no Chinese leader has ever made a credible threat to that end. Xi Jinping, might be different because he's looking for legacy. What he did to Hong Kong was definitely a departure. Western media is BS, but when China's actions are so obvious and out in the open, it's not a reaction to western media bias, it's American ignorance about things that go on outside their borders. And China has been engaging in misinformation campaigns for decades too, and apparently people are so mistrustful of their own government, they fail to realize that.

@barquerojuancarlos7253 [ But, in the US we prohibited from getting any news and information from Russia.] Unlike China, it's not illegal to use a VPN in the US so I'm not sure where you get your information from.

@AustinHalo You can see who the wu maos are, yah?
3
Sure does raise some odd questions on why he suddenly trusts CNN and their framing, doesn't it?
3
@Teochewtuahang They don't, liar. That's like having a chance to study at Harvard but choosing to go to a local college.
3
They would receive help - even from a Republican. You wanna know why? They're a major chip maker that the US can't do without. All that BS that China makes chips is nonsense - most of their chips are literally refurbished from existing products they didn't make.
2
@Teochewtuahang Yes, I'm well aware of the pro-China Taiwanese group that the CCP have been cultivating whose origins is an actual gang thug. I'm sure those kind of Taiwanese shuttle back and forth quite frequently.
2
@Teochewtuahang [It is amazing how you Americans always talking about freedom of speech and hate communism but the moment somebody speak contracdict your belief, it is always about "he is brainwashed" or "CPP thugs"] When you're saying the same thing China's state TV is saying, it's not a matter of disagreement, it's a matter of fact.
2
@Teochewtuahang [what is this China's state TV? Most of western TV are runned by CIA even Youtube, Twitter, facebook are working with Pentagon and CIA. And you are watching western TV, what does that say about you 😆] I'm watching Jimmy Dore. Is he "western tv" to you? And I'm CRITICIZING him for quoting a CNN story and taking it at face value. Shill harder wu mao.
2
@sveletemelody Danny Haiphong is a CCP shill. Literally anyone actually interested in what's true has better insight.
2
They don't want to be part of China. China is a basket case. Just because they tried to frame the election as a vote on re-unification doesn't mean it was. Were the US mid-terms a vote on democracy? Think about it.
2
Exactly.
2
Danny Haiphong is a CCP shill. Why would you use him as a source, Jimmy?

2
@Schmitty7546 Thanks. I hate these shadow bans.
2
You're right, but there are a lot of wu mao's shilling this nonsense. You would think Jimmy's BS detector would at the very least warn him off the narrative framing of CNN.

I was asking myself the same thing - why is Jimmy taking the CNN at face value? Taiwan doesn't want to be part of China. China is a basket case. Just because they tried to frame the election as a vote on re-unification doesn't mean it was. Were the US mid-terms a vote on democracy? Think about it.

@kaneharris5899 Alex Chau is a wu mao, in case you can't tell. And judging by the likes whenever he comments, I'd say he's brought a few friends.
1
@tray7787 Oh really? What Chinese people and from where? I've travelled to both and that sounds like total BS.

1
@umungus518 True. And yet, among the many basket cases, still the better of bad choices. No one is begging to go to China. In fact, with the zero covid nonsense and especially the rise in xenophobia and nationalism, people have been leaving - including people from Taiwan.
1
Wow, Jimmy. You got this one REALLY wrong. Why would you use CNN as a source? And Danny Haiphong the CCP shill? Seriously!?
1
It's all nonsense. They don't want to be part of China. China is a basket case. Just because they tried to frame the election as a vote on re-unification doesn't mean it was. Were the US mid-terms a vote on democracy? Think about it.

1
@johnstrawb3521 If his "expert" is a CCP shill, then there won't be any benefit.

Why does Jimmy Dore use a CCP shill as a source for anything?
1
Yep, you're right. They don't want to be part of China. China is a basket case. Just because they tried to frame the election as a vote on re-unification doesn't mean it was. Were the US mid-terms a vote on democracy? Think about it.
1
@leonardpearlman4017 FYI, read The Intercepts expose from leaked Department of Homeland Security documents. Twitter, Facebook and Wikipedia are all compromised. Be careful when using them as a source.
1
@Schmitty7546 Can you copy and paste what Jay Schmidt said? He's being shadowbanned.
