  1. You misunderstand a fundamental thing about industry in China - the Great Leap Forward never ended. They didn't misjudge the market - they didn't care. When the CCP decide to boost something - home building, EV cars, etc. it begins an insane rush to make as much money as possible by any means necessary, almost always leading to a kind of ponzi scheme. The earned money is quickly converted to foreign currencies or gold and moved overseas. This is a direct result of the instability created under the CCP and has many facets to it.
