Another element to diver further is to answer the question, why would someone want to eliminate both gender and sex (because the answer amounts to more than "because it's discrimination")?

More than likely, they don't have one, but they know certain documents weren't turned over because there's something specific they're looking for. The informant is a nice bit of disinformation, capitalizing on the existing rumor mill to hide their true motives, while also achieving an ancillary benefit of paranoia in the target.

As her legal team, they should have been presented with all the facts, period. When your lawyer, who is on your side 1)who practiced responses with you before you took the witness stand, 2)who told you what questions you would be asked, 3)who practiced those responses with you prior to taking the witness stand asks you a question, and they're surprised by the answer, it usually means you lied and changed your answer. No lawyer can prepare for that.
