@the3dhermit That may be true for some of them. But most of these kids are in an environment that promotes mental and emotional problems - it's literally the way the schools (and even some businesses) handle problems. Exposure therapy is one of the most effective techniques for reducing things like fear and anxiety. You expose people to the things they're afraid of (voluntarily) and they learn to cope. We shouldn't be surprised at the results when the policy is the exact opposite. All because people in charge won't stand up to whackjobs.
