  1. The super comic nerds were the ones who got excited and dragged normies to the theatres in the first place. Now that they keep changing things to the point where the comic nerds don't get excited, they won't go see it and won't drag anyone else with them or hype the movie up. Normies, who nominally enjoyed the movies to begin with, are unlikely to continue to go see these movies on their own.
