If you ask a Canadian what they're proud of about their country, 9 times out of 10 they'll tell you their healthcare system, even though they'll recognize it has its issues. The military won't even crack the top 10 in the mind of the average Canadian.

@canadianbakin1304 Canadian military gets live fire training that a lot of other troops around the world don't get. One of the many things that make a difference. Many don't know that Canadian snipers received the Bronze Star (an American medal) in recognition for their service in Afghanistan. You can cynically say it's a purely political gesture (and it very well could be), but one could argue it's a recognition of the impact Canadian soldiers make.

@MrAudioBill [Ask a Canadian what they are most embarrassed of: Justin Trudeau] I wish that was the case, but far too many are propagandized. They just can't bring themselves to criticize the first Black Prime Minister (ok, sometimes Black.. he doesn't know how many times..).

They don't work fine. They're constantly breaking down. Trudeau was stranded in India for exactly that reason (unless you believe the cocaine dog story). Not the first time it's happened either. Canada's Sea Kings (helicopters) were constantly breaking down and were considered to be one of the worst procurements in Canadian military history.
