@schristi69 I was there when they were still building the Three Gorges Dam and the engineers also told them they could get just as much power, if not more, with smaller, consecutive dams instead of one big one, precisely because it would be nearly impossible to deal with the silt buildup. Of course, in their wisdom, they decided to ignore the wisdom of experts and declared themselves superior by accomplishing what they were told couldn't be done.
