  31. They believed that if one man commited sin/disobedience to God, he/she would bring the wrath of God on the whole nation and thus they were shunned, banished or murdered. Although that was more superstitious/religious fear based, reality has proven that deviant elements left unchecked can quickly put a nation down. Personally, I'd defend a good society from bad individuals and good individuals from a bad society. Protecting sociopaths that don't give 2 dimes about the rights of others is like being the devil's advocate, literally! It's a dichotomy, it's nonsense! Of course we have to think that it's not only their fault, probably most of them were transformed by their surroundings, sometimes counseling could pay some results than to simply get rid of them. So it is also important to check the well fare of our society/country (government) because it's an interconnected cycle.
