  1. Hold on. That is not try that the "locals" in Crimea wanted to join Russia. First, Russians have seeded that area full of pro-Russian nationalists who have intimidated the Ukrainians. Second, the "referendum" was a sham and I know that we all know this. Third, if any "locals" thought it would be good to join Russia back then, they don't believe this now.
