I really thought Trump could be talked out of the tariffs by rational actors within the GOP. I see that isn't going to happen and we're in for a deep and sudden recession.

Oh boy, we missed something in this. President Biden's tariffs set thresholds. As long as the threshold wasn't met, the tariff didn't affect the imports. Biden used tariff-rate quotas whereas Trump's were just blanket tariffs.

This isn't how to do that. It is an ineffective way.

@robertblass5422 we need experts, of course. Textbooks are written by experts. We can challenge them and they'll come back with credible sources and facts to support their claims. So I'm hoping we listen more to experts

@GentlemanJack705 Right. We don't know until he actually does something. He could be just a barking dog trying to scare countries into doing what he wants them to do BUT that is a pathetic, dictator style approach that will soon stop working and it will begin to backfire spectacularly. This isn't how a democratic country should be run.

@JW-iz6mv Bro, it's certain that the USA will fall into recession with idiot Trump and his idiot policies. The tariffs alone will do it. Deporting guest workers alone will do it but he's going to do both. BOTH.

@JW-iz6mv I absolutely hope we don't get pushed into a recession by Donald Trump's terrible policies and his incompetence. However, I watched much more competent Republicans crash the economy so it feels almost like a guarantee.
