These countries all agreed to settle on a commodity currency. An anchor currency. It has nothing to do with the USA policy. They all chose the US dollar.

It was FORCED upon the US after ww2 so stop drinking your gd Koolaid. Global commodities were AGREED upon to use US dollar. Nobody has to use it. Sit down if you don't understand global politics.

@seeker2118 South and Central American nations bounce between right-wing and left-wing. Socialism in South and Central America is due to poverty and extreme ideology both left and right but both lead to fascism. They also have central banks which can pass monetary policies to mitigate inflation. That's their job. The USA is doing it's job to stabilize markets with Republicans, in part, trying to derail it.

@baldeagledelta3482 Global commodities are bought and sold in US dollars. That's the global system that nations agreed upon. So that's not going to change. I mean, good luck. It's bad for US in the sense that it makes our exports expensive, good for everybody else. It does give us more importing power. It's a trade off and countries like China would not want to switch with us, nor Brazil, nor anybody else except nations with dictators who make huge mistakes like Russia.

@baldeagledelta3482 Oh jesus. Central government plays a vital role in human existence. Get over it. Public institutions and services are part of the checks and balances of a free and democratic society. Those services that you're complaining about also grow our GDP and help raise people out of poverty. I'm tired of you libertarians trying to destroy this country without even knowing what you're doing.
