  1. I don't care which cable is used- HDMI or Displayport, as long as my TV supports it and my GPU fully supports it in Linux but right now I'm more than happy to hack the Linux Kernel code to add the HDMI support. The HDMI forum can serious $$$$ off.

  2.  @bengtakevarg  That's not accurate. AMD has been committed to fully open source and it's incredible. I compiled the latest Kernel, optimized the output binary for my specific CPU, and it's just really fast. I blame HDMI Forum for this. I'm sure AMD is trying to strike a deal or provide a the HDMI blob later. We'll see.
