  19. Because the river is running form “upper” part of map down to Black Sea! If you are floating on the river the east will be on your left side and the west on the right! Netherlands and France are also at the left side of river Rhine......."....

  20.  @jmreedy40  This is normal natural explanation! Water is flowing down the river, never upwards!! If you want explanation with north/south direction Hamburg still is on right side of Elbe! Nobody coming from Ocean 🌊 with containership would say it is on left side...........of river Elbe, even it then is on left side!
