  1. Keigo isn't that insane. It's easier than English because there are set rules. You just follow the correct pattern. In English you have to play around with your words to make yourself sound polite. We (English-speakers) don't have it as easy as Japanese speakers.

  2. The nice thing about Japan, is that most of the time people talk about time with 24 hours as opposed to 2 sets of 12 hours. It's totally normal in Japan to say 17 o'clock instead of 5. It helps avoid confusion. In the west, it's basically just the military that does that. They're smart because it avoids misunderstanding.

  3. The Americans often say "huh" in the same way that we Canadians say "eh". "Nice day, huh?" "So you think you're so tough, huh?"
