  1. The nice thing about Japan, is that most of the time people talk about time with 24 hours as opposed to 2 sets of 12 hours. It's totally normal in Japan to say 17 o'clock instead of 5. It helps avoid confusion. In the west, it's basically just the military that does that. They're smart because it avoids misunderstanding.
