  1. I grew up with a golden station wagon in the 70s (not metallic, but a yellow of a certain hue). In the early 80s, my dad bought a brand new station wagon, burgundy with fake wood paneling (minimal). We had a huge family because my dad hot got remarried to someone with lots of kids. The two parents would be in the front and 6 kids were in the back. The back storage space had seats that faced backwards. I did a lot of my driving practice in that car. At some point in the 90s, with kids growing up and moving out of the house, he got rid of it. Station wagons were great.
