I think I can speak on behalf of most people in the world: We knew very little, if anything, about Ukraine until this year. I didn't even know it was its own country. I thought it was a part of Russia.
1
@joserivaille8705 Yeah, so it could be part of Eurasia too. That's why I prefer the division to be North America, South America, Antarctica, Eurasia, and Australia.
1
@marte1081 It doesn't matter.
1
@Rian Cezar You're not making sense. North America is a large land mass, and Central America is considered part of it. South America is another large land mass. Eurasia is a large land mass. Therefore, North America is a continent, South America is a continent, and Eurasia is a continent. It's quite simple.
1
@zikalokof1challenge414 I'm aware that in those languages they call North America and South America "America" and that many of them consider both continents to be one continent. That's not how I think though, and it's not how "America" is used in North American English.
1
@susymunozmerkle7880 That's not logical. What's your problem?
1
@jhamilton560 Yeah, I know. But, this is about English, not Spanish.
1
@Ana-hw8ud Nope. Wrong! North America is one continent. South America is a separate continent. "America" means the USA in North American English, despite how that word is used in UK English or other languages. There is nothing wrong with using that word differently, but you have to know your audience. I'm not from the USA, I'm from Canada, so I am not an American, I'm a Canadian, and a North American. We use metric in Canada, and sometimes imperial measurements.
1
@Ana-hw8ud Yes, I've heard of different people from around the world having different concepts of what a "continent" is.
1
@jackas5658 Continents: North America, South America, Eurasia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica. (Oceania obviously isn't a continent, but a collection of islands in the ocean.)
1
@maximipe I've already explained everything here. Refer to my previous comments to understand more clearly.
1
I was expecting Kazakhstan. I bet you could find thousands of Americans that think that's a fake country made up for the Borat movies and TV bits.
1
These guys should make their videos more evergreen. They're going to start sounding dated. All they had to say was "in 2008". Instead they're dating their videos by saying things like "13 years ago, in 2008."
1
I'm surprised Americans haven't done this with the Great Lakes yet. Some crackpot billionaire will have some idea, and some loser like Trump will let them do it.
1
Canada has a great flag, representing nature. Mexico has a great flag. The USA has a boring colonial flag, completely based on the British flag - red, white, and blue. The stripes represent the British colonies that the USA is founded upon.
1
Why don't you want to blame anyone?
1
You should at least have a short break, or change your tone of voice, when you go into the ad at the end.
1
And then they fire her later... D'oh.
1
That's a record not too many people will purposely try to break.
1
Sometimes sexual abuse is rampant in very isolated islands where whites live. Indigenous populations work out there issues, whereas whites who explore, then settle in random places, tend to, well..., not always treat each other decently.
1
That looks like a nice country. Why do Europeans get such nice buildings and everything? What did we do to not deserve that too?
1
Did you even watch the video? The whole reason why civilization started in the area was because there are two big rivers going through Iraq. What we need to do to help Iraq is to make Kuwait a part of Iraq.
1
You can see why Iraq would attack Kuwait. It was Iraq!
1
Yep. Kuwait was part of Iraq, and Iraq tried to rightfully take it back. Pretty unfair to landlock a country. Kuwait should be part of Iraq now.
1
That makes no sense.
1
You could get insurance though.
1
@musukochan09 I bet you can still get insurance.
1
Those are more like "islets" though.
1
No. A typhoon. Look up the difference.
1
@jxj5924 I see.
1
Imagine all the Americans watching this and then leaving in a huff, believing that global warming isn't real.
1
Are you sure?
1
They made a new skyscraper there.
1
@carlwhittaker5343 Yeah, it is.
1
You sound like you were a dull kid. Maybe you should think of paying attention in class and putting in a little effort.
1
You completely ignored the indigenous people of that region.
1
@NecessaryTruths That could be good too.
