See? An affair still destroys a marriage in Japan. I've heard countless sketchy foreigners in Japan try to say that Japanese married couples don't mind it if their partner cheats on them, because they see it as purely sexual and not related to love. Personally, I think the kind of people that say this only say it because they want to justify cheating - either cheating they do now, or cheating they'd like to do in the future. It doesn't work that way though. We're all human. Cheating hurts everyone, including Japanese.

@lonelypigeon7562 Exactly. It is a myth that Japanese couples don't mind being cheated on. Too many people perpetuate it.

@nikitaw1982 No. If you want sex and your partner doesn't, that doesn't mean you go to someone else. It means you either break up and find someone new or you just accept that you can't have sex until your partner wants to. Don't teach your kids that it's acceptable to cheat. Show strength. You don't always get what you want in life. It's better for a kid to have divorced parents with morals than a cheating parent or parents who stay together.
