It's quite expensive to feed and shelter someone paying for guards, buildings, and everything else. Not only that, but we ALL die. There's no purpose in keeping someone alive who WILL die anyway.

I don't know where you're from, but keeping prisioners in jail is usually very expensive. For example, in the USA, it costs at least tens of thousands of dollars per year, sometimes more than $100,000.
