  1. Stop worrying about the animal lovers. They're not the problem. The problem is the people who killed off the apex predators and now the people who refuse venison in favour of beef, pork, and chicken. If meat lovers gave a crap about the broader ecosystem, they'd adjust their eating.

  2. Grass is generally a waste of space anywhere. Australia, Canada, the USA, etc. love to have big grassy yards, which is a bit of a travesty. Those could be gardens, but it's just homogenous boring suburbia.

  3. I'm pretty sure that would be a big nope from the Japanese general public, especially farmers in rural areas (almost all of Japan is covered with mountains). There has to be a promotion to eat venison. Personally, I think it's great.

  4. Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism, and cleanliness is a key value of Hinduism. Anyway, for a Canadian who lives in Japan, I've never seen Japan as particularly clean. These days I live in the inaka and have a large yard where I do gardening. I can't dig anywhere without finding pieces of plastic, glass, styrofoam, cans, broken pottery, or any other sort of junk. It's endless. On the other hand, I do appreciate the general value for cleanliness when it comes to bathing and washing one's hands, etc. People are quite good with bodily cleanliness.

  7. They never seem to take these kinds of things into consideration when making those worldwide comparisons of sexism. Japan always ranks very low for women's issues. What about this though? The whole of society is watching out for women, yet men are discarded when they can't make money.

  12. That kind of wealth sort of scares me. Like, how do so many people have so much money, and why don't I? I'm smart and work hard, so that can't be it. Anyway, I can only stand so much time in these areas before I have to scram.
