I paid 1200 bucks for a 12v, 300ah (3.8 kwh) LiFeP04 battery. A typical tiny space heater (in America) draws 1500 watts using 120 volts AC on high, so in 2 hours the battery would be drained and it would be using an AC inverter to convert the DC to AC so there would be losses there. Imagine the size & cost of the battery bank and solar panel setup needed to heat a full sized home....just the heat! I got this battery to have solar power in Louisiana for a small 500w window AC in case of hurricanes and thunderstorms. I got it while I had extra bucks. I was about to be on a fixed income with no car living in a camper so I got it. It has helped a lot...but....in a very long power outage I would have very limited power...perhaps none at all if it`s cloudy for several days.

@TroySavary I got a little 200w personal heater and electric blanket for winter power outages and a propane heater if I can get a bottle of propane. In this economy a 15 to 20 dollar bottle of propane means skipping meals on a fixed income and requires planning ahead. My nephew will help but I try to avoid asking for anything unless it`s an absolute emergency. The electric blanket and being able to cook with battery power has been a lifesaver but I use very low wattage rice cookers.

@TroySavary Heaters in cars will drain the battery fast. It`s dangerous. California isn`t Alaska. But every trendy thing is patterned after California lies.
