  1. I use emergency solar. Charging is a huge challenge unless you`re only depending on very low wattage or quick use of higher wattage devices. To simply power a small window air conditioner reliably requires a huge battery bank and a massive amount of panels, cables, and MPPT chargers, and that`s just part of it. It also requires a lot of perfect conditions. The reason for the need for a massive battery bank and a way to rapid charge is clouds and rainy or hazy periods. Plus, rapid charging degrades lithium batteries, and so does heat, cold, and the passage of time.

  2. Lithium ion batteries degrade whether you use them or not and they require care. If you charge them to 100% they degrade physically due to swelling and heat. If you discharge them too far they grow dendrite crystals which can make them short out. If you store them the BMS slowly drains them. If they get too hot they degrade. If you rapidly charge them they degrade. If you charge them when they`re near or below freezing they get damaged. And they degrade with time no matter how you use them or what you do.   3. I was homeless and barely had enough to get an old used camper and my prepping supplies and my sister let me put it on a rural lot. Or I`d be dead. Not sure how people will survive the next year.  @IntegerOfDoom

  5. I use solar for emergencies and to be able to get the most out of it I had to learn it and build my own system. They can`t B.S. me either. Reality doesn`t match up with their "facts."

Batteries, solar panel charge controllers, solar panels, AC inverters to convert DC into AC, converters to produce or regulate different DC voltages like USB or 9v fans, various cables, and other parts like fuses for safety. All the various batteries I use from tiny ones for radios and flashlights to my 12 increasingly larger ones can be solar charged. If something major happens and grid power fails I can still cook, run my air conditioner, keep my freezer frozen, till my garden, mow, heat bathing water, power my WIFI, or seal off a small area in my camper with mylar blankets and run a 200w mini heater and electric blanket to avoid freezing.  @johnnunn8688

Got propaganda for that on your list? Don`t they have a LOT of solar panels to charge those things "after hours"?  @justsomeguy934

  8. I`m a prepper. Lead acid batteries are way more expensive now. To use those is a nightmare. I`m in a region affected by the constant threat of severe weather and I can`t afford to put fuel in a gas generator for over two weeks when the next hurricane happens...or lose all the food I grow and berries and fish I harvested myself if the power fails after severe July thunderstorms. I`ve had enough of that and I did what I could, while I had money left, before going on Social Security. I`m in a very rural area. This was the best option.  @CynthiaRockroth

  9. Nine states just banned the sale of gas cars. Imagine buying a used electric car for 800 bucks. We`re doomed! Get away from the cities and start planting every type of food that grows and get some chickens...near a fishing spot if possible. I dropped out of the scam. We have no other option now if we plan to be free.  @CynthiaRockroth

  13. In 2020 after two hurricanes hit the area I watched neighbor after neighbor run out of gas and lose all their food...then run their cars out of gas falling asleep in them trying to stay cool. I have a gas generator. It`s cheaper to use it to recharge my batteries. But I can`t afford to buy very much gas...maybe a day`s worth...because I`m on Social Security disability. I can`t even afford to own a car. So I invested what I had in my own power supply. Nobody else is gonna help me and they shouldn`t have to. I`m on my own here just surviving.  @PruneHub

  14. I wish I had a free EV to use for power outages. I can`t afford one. I can`t even afford an electric bike. I can`t afford new batteries (1000 bucks for a 3.8 kwh/3800wh 12v EV grade LiFeP04) or food anymore except sardines, crackers, tuna, and some rice and beans. It`s getting harder to grow food too. I need a new freezer bad too. We`re in BIG trouble thanks to "Mr Big" here in America.  @michaelzerk
