@robertkubrick3738 I have a lot of experience with solar and the camper is a joke. Overpriced too...by about 50,000! Butl if you DIY put together a power supply that large with a few solar charge controllers, enough solar panels to have an abundance of energy, and a high amp plug-in charger to use with a gas generator...and backups...you gotta have backups if you depend on this stuff...which is part of the reason to use multiple charge controllers...it can be done affordably and sanely.
I live in a camper because of necessity (fixed income). The steel roof over my camper cost more than the used camper. My solar power setup cost more than the camper too. I use low wattage cookers, lights, fans, heaters, water distiller, air conditioner, refrigeration etc. I`m in a low area protected from high winds of storms and hurricanes by hills and pines. But the power fails all the time and it can be out for weeks after a hurricane like Laura/Delta in 2020. So I had to do something.
I can`t afford a sudden expense like 30 bucks in gas each day in gas for 2 or 3 weeks and I don`t want to have a heat stroke or lose my food. So i put about 15 to 20 bucks per month up-front (while I could) into having on-site emergency electricity for the next 12 to 15 years. In the meantime I can save up and get backups or double my storage and upgrade things here and there and improve flaws in the system. And I`m planting a food forest too. Nobody is coming to save us...especially in Louisiana, so.
