Lithium ion batteries cannot be drained completely dead, used in heat (90f degrees or above), charged in heat or cold, charged rapidly, overcharged, or stored fully charged, especially in a hot area. They will quickly degrade and/or explode. I recharge my mower batteries when they`re half drained and mow again and I keep an ice pack wrapped in a towel on them when in use in summer. I store them until I mow again inside at half charge and mow immediately after charging them. If very carefully cared for my batteries should be able to mow my small yard for about 6 years or 300 times if I`m lucky. So that means I`ll probably get half of that and they`ll suddenly fail or catch fire. But so far I`m two years in. Run them dead just once and they`re likely half ruined, degrading from dendrites, and unsafe.

@Audioremedy0785 And the cars` batteries are the problem...and by now everyone knows they don`t last because the same batteries are in the power tools he mentioned and everything else.

@my3dviews My mower was about $150. Replacement batteries are nearly $100. Nope! I`ll make my own from a much better battery and wire it up.

@barackblows1942 I don`t have gas and I have no way to get it. So I use electric.
