  1. They can`t give them away. I want one (before they dump them in landfills) to use the battery after hurricanes. They use 3kw to travel a mile and that much energy can power my window air conditioner for 10 hours on HIGH! A 3.8 kwh battery with automotive-grade cells cost me 1200 bucks!

  2. Here in hurricane country I invested the stimulus (that I didn`t even apply for, by the way) in emergency solar for the 5th wheel camper I live in once I realized the prices had come way down. So I bought the parts and made it myself after learning about it. I got a small gas generator for recharging when needed as well. I can keep my freezers frozen, dorm fridge going, cook, run my mower and tiller, distill water, and power a window air conditioner. I`ve never needed the generator but went ahead and got it going before the winter storm to be ready. Thankfully we dodged an ice storm here. But my winter vegetables aren`t looking great. Some are covered and will stay covered until Sunday. Every winter I lose my garden in recent years and we get snow and ice. I plant things that can handle temps down to 14f but we`ve been getting low single digits here in Louisiana every year. I hope my fig tree survived but I got cuttings to root just in case. Mississippi hit 11 below ZERO this morning!
