This was just amazing you started out by showing how much you really care about the earth and the life on it. Then you took us through a big city and showed us the parks where wild life abounds. At the end the spot you found to moor was so cool that sun set was just amazing or was it a sun rise? Not sure thanks again for best 20 mins I have had today. Steve PS my crow friends are coming back a few at a time. :)

Once again you have made my Friday so much better. Its one thing to see peoples artwork displayed all over the internet but quite another to watch them create their masterpieces in front of you so to speak. I love your history lessons especially the one about the bridge. And the close up of the cricket was great. You are one of the kindest people I know the way you care for even the smallest of God’s creatures not that it’s unpresented. There was Jimminy Cricket in the story of Pinocchio and in the movie The Last Emperor he had a pet cricket he kept with him all his life. The start of your butterfly was great can’t wait to see the finished product and also can’t wait to get your book in the mail. Have a great week see you next Friday Steve

Thanks for another great adventure. It's hard to imagine anyone would be mean enough to shoot one of those beautiful birds for sport. We have far to many guns in this country and I so wish they would have more control over them as the do in your country. :( It's so nice to travel with you in my mind. Steve
4
Thanks again for taking my mind off of all the problems in the world and I sorry you had problems with getting your boat to float it's so good to see all the nice people willing to help. Plus you showed love to a little bug who was drowning. People like you make the world a better place ..Steve

Well I have finally caught up with you. 105 videos in a month or so. Not bad I have learned so much. The daisy looks good on Alice Grace but I must confess I do miss the monkey. I am a bit sad really because I have no more videos to watch but I take heart because a new one is coming soon. I was impressed when you trimmed that feather and wrote with it. it must be a lost art to do that. Thank you so much for taking all of us along with you over the years and I am looking forward to where we will go next. Steve Washington State USA

Thanks for being there and sharing another great adventure my pc crashed so have to watch on my phone steve❤

I can see why this is your favorite place to visit on the cut. It's a place so full of history Really old history .That was one thing I remembered on my one trip to England years ago you could walk through places that were around 500 years or more before you were born. Over here there is not much you can see that's goes back more then 200 years. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to ask if you draw from memory? The drawing you did of the Guinea foul was perfect. Thanks again for another voyage on the Alice Grace. Steve

I am sorry I have not commented for a while been going through a bit of a rough patch but I have enjoyed you last two vlogs Greatly. They still take my mind away from all the problems in this world. You are greatly admired by me the way you handle problems. You stay positive it seems no mater what goes wrong. My wife came down with covid the other day and I am afraid that I might get it soon. The letters you put on the daisy were great! I very much enjoyed the last video with the jets taking off from the RAF base. You look at life not matter how tiny and always seem to manage to see the beauty in nature like the butterfly nesting on your boat or the fantastic sun sets you mange to photograph . So I so look forward to Friday when I know I will have another trip on the Alice Grace. Steve

I am now hooked on your channel. Have been binge watching and am now up to this episode. The details you give on your journeys are fantastic. I have learned so much and just wanted to say thank you. I love your country and once spent a month there 20 or more years ago. So thanks again for doing such a good job. With so much going on in this world now that is depressing it's nice to just think about nature and the peace it brings to my mind instead focusing on the war and shootings in this country.. Steve from Washington State USA
3
Thank you for a fine DIY video even though I don't own a boat much less a live aboard narrowboat. I can tell you have the heart and soul of a teacher. I am now almost caught up with your videos and I want you to know they are the one thing that takes my mind off all the bad things that are happening in this world including the war in Ukraine and the stuff going on here in this country. Now I have to ask was that your mate at the beginning of this video if so he seams like a really nice man. Thanks again for the education just wanted you to know you are making the world a better place. Steve for Washington USA

Thanks Vanessa for another voyage on the Allice Grace. I agree that a Murder of crows is sort of a harsh name. I want to tell you another story that might explain why I am attached to the crows around here. My wife told me about a crow that she adopted and named Smoky he had a broken wing so her and her brothers nursed him a backed to health and they kept him for a few months. He became sort of a pet to her and her brothers for a few months or so I think it is so great when you can help natures creatures that way. I learned a lot about mushrooms today. I thank you again for the best 20 mins of my Friday. I have been spending a lot of time on TicTok lately it's mostly to do with politics I am so happy that our mid term elections are over. Now I can go back to my favorite things which are peoples pet's You know what I found a lot of people have pet Owls! it was so cool to see their owl's do all sorts of tricks. It looked a little cold for Zeph to go swimming hope he enjoyed it. Looking forward again to next Friday's adventure Steve
3
Vanessa I totally agree with Azzy Twoz your vlogs are amazing! The way you can take a bunch of random video clips and weave them into a story I watched this one three times. I have never seen a Fox in my whole life in person. Now thanks to you I know what it's like to come across one in the wild To bad you did not manage to catch the bats in the tunnel. Once again thank you for taking my mind off the stuff that's going on in the world, and giving me hope that their are a lots of good people in the world like the friend who sent you those books and the card with the dragon fly on the front. It is good that you find so many kindred spirts. Take care Vanessa and have a great week. See you next Friday. Steve
2
So cool that you took me by Bletchley Park the place where my favorite movie was made ".The Imitation Game " The story of Allen Touring it's funny how you treat us viewers as though we were there with you. In fact I got a little red it the face when you started this video with the phrase" What are You doing here?"made me laugh at myself any way I am half way to where you are now. Video #50 So thank you for all I am learning about birds and nature. You are a star though I must confess that Zeph sometime up stages you. Steve
2
Another great vlog I have to say you are such an expert camera person your close up shot's are amazing like the little egg on the flower and I forgot to mention the close up of the bee putting pollen on the flower on you last video I have learned so much watching you videos over the last year or more thanks again for being there Steve
2
Wow what another exciting Friday you have created for us all. A tunnel to hell with a spooky man and ghost's and all. To answer your question I would not walk alone through 2 miles of dark tunnel. The way you parked your boat would be scary to me. You and Mr M are brave souls for sure. When you come to your poem and your book I always try to guess what you will draw and for the fist time I was right. That parakeet was really cool. It was a toss up between the Robin and the parakeet both were beautiful. Speaking of your book you never said if you were further along towards publishing it.*(Maybe it's a secret Steve) Anyway thanks again for cheering up my Friday have a great week
2
Thanks for another voyage on the Alice Grace. This one made me appreciate how much work is involved in keeping a narrowboat going . Made me tired just to watch you work that swing bridge. And then having to scrape the ice off your solar screens. As usual lots of birds and plants that I learned the names of. Those little blue tits are really colorful birds and love seeing the Cormorants again we always see six or more of them sitting on logs on when we walk the dogs to the lake. They are on the first page of the calendar on my wall. Hope you got your water tanks filled have a great week see you here next Friday same time same station. Steve
2
Hi Vanessa I just wanted to thank you for the lovely reply you gave me about the tent caterpillars. Once again I enjoyed our voyage on the tidal Trent. What I told you about our crows is still true. I did see one yesterday. I am beginning to think that maybe the grounds crew has some how managed to poison them their are many golfers hear that don't like them because the sometimes steal food from our carts. I hope that it is not the case. I do really miss them. Have a nice week and I hope the weather there is not to hot. Steve
2
What a beautiful story about the old man feeding the birds made me think of my crows on the golf course I finally fond a bunch of them just before the snow came so I gave them my crackers that I had been saving. I guess you are with your family now having a nice time so thanks for this video see you next Friday Steve ps am so happy with my new calendar Happy Christmas and a great new year!
2
I love the way you put together this list of your favorites in 2022 mine is simple the day I found your vlog wish I could remember the exact date I would remember it every year from here on out. I look forward to many more adventures in 2023 thanks again for making the world a better place Steve
2
Vanessa thanks for another voyage on Alice Grace. I have to say that trip through the Tunnel was a bit hair raising. Passing another boat like that in such a narrow space would have freaked me out. Were you driving or was it Mr. M?( He did a great job fixing the fan belt. By the way.) Now to my favorite part of the voyage the encounter with the Red Kite and the Kestrel I have to say the Kestrel has become my new favorite bird after watching a you tube of a Asian girl named Hesper who had a Kestrel she named Goji she was with the bird for two years and he traveled everywhere with her and finally she let it go back to the wild reminded me of my Owl. I also thought it was very touching when you stopped to pay your respect to Chip and left those little coasters at the book exchange. Have a great week see you next Friday. Steve
2
Thanks for the best 25 mins I have spent today. I don't know much about narrow boats but I have seen something called a weed hatch that you open when your prop gets fouled by weeds and stuff. With all the much you went through on this voyage I wondered if you had to open yours? I am happy to tell you that my wife finally tested negative for Covid yesterday and it looks as though I got lucky and did not catch it. I need to take a lesson from you about keeping a positive attitude. As far a birds go you have a way of filming them that is amazing. There are still a shortage of crows around here. I do wish they would come back. We do have Cormorants down by the lake and they are so interesting to watch. I love the way they spread their wings to dry them out. Thanks again for another great trip Steve
2
Another wonderful vlog. First off I so noticed how Zeph reacted to you saying haunted houses. He was so cute with is paw on your leg for comfort. Then all the bits you called back to mind from Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit made that whole walk through Tolkien's trails come alive and as usual the beautiful birds you found there especially the Egret. Thanks again for another great Friday. Steve
2
I totally agree with Gary you send happiness with every video you make. I have to say you look very nice in that black sweater with the daisy pattern. This episode was a bit scary in a way you were looking for a safe place to ride out the storm we have had so many of those in this country lately seems like every day on the news there is another one. Glad this one was not as bad as forecast. Nice to see your daughter again hope you all had a happy visit. See you next Friday Steve
2
You are so artistic and talented enjoy your videos and your poems ...Steve in Washington USA
2
@jennyc1846 Thanks Jenny. A bar of soap that's an expression I have not herd before Vanessa is a lovely person but I too have never met her in person. I do love her vlogs though it takes my mind away for a while of all the crap that is going on in this world. At least for a little while. It was very nice of you to comment on my comment a long time ago I thought of living in Australia I think it's a beautiful country :)
1
8/11/23 Missed you this Friday but I am slowly catching up with the vids in your book. It's nice to go back and see some things I missed" a simple life is best "I agree with you and Zeph. Thanks again for sending me your book. Hope you are having a fun time see you next Friday I hope ........ Steve
1
Glad to see you back on you tube missed you last Friday. I remember when I was a kid I had 4 of 5 of the little books by Beatrix Potter but The Tailor of Gloucester was not one of them I was cool to see where she wrote that book once again your close up video of the bug was perfect as was your drawing and poem. Zeph is such a smart dog problem solving with the large stick Thanks again for being there and making my Friday better Steve
1
I had the same reaction as Lisa I too got all emotional when you did your drawing of Zeph I was just visiting my brother yesterday and he has two goldens one's name is Ashland and he is so close to that dog and the dog has been through so much lately. I am afraid he does not have long to live and I know how much my brother will miss him when he is gone. I have a tiny little dog I feel I can't live without we get so close to them. I have one quick question when you were trying to steer clear of the swan. I think you called it a "Cob" or something like that is that another name for them? Thanks again for taking us along on your journey see you next week. Steve :)
1
Another beautiful trip. I watched this one two or three times. I have to say I never thought of you getting depressed by the news as well then I started thinking how you are so much closer to what is going on in Ukraine then I am. Also that this country has never had a bomb drop on our land during a war where as England has experience first hand. I hope and pray that never happens again. There was one seen on your video that took my breath away it was the one with the weeping willow was a ways in front of the boat it was so peaceful to look at. Thanks again and more happy voyages to you. O forgot to ask what were the birds you have never seen before? Was one the Sparrow Hawk? Steve
1
Vanessa I looked for a new adventure last Friday and alas there was none so I have to assume you took a needed vacation. :( I had no choice but to watch this one for the 5th time glad I did for I still found some things I had missed for example the story of the kind family who brought food to the ones who had Scarlet Fever. What ever you are doing I so hope things are well with you and your family. I wanted to thank you for bringing back one of the happiest memories of my childhood back to mind I was beginning to think I had imagined the owl so I asked my brother who is 10 years younger then me and he also remembered it. Take care my friend I hope you are having a great week. Steve
1
Thanks for letting me know have a great visit :)
1
OK I'll have a go at a guess could it be an Otter? or maybe another kind of flower? O sorry only get one guess. Could you please put a link as to where I can buy your calendar? I hope I can use paypal cause I forgot my password for goggle pay. love the way you talk to Zeph. Did he get to keep his flat soccer ball? O one more question how did the crow fair in the contest with the red Kite? Not very well I am guessing. Thanks for another great adventure on the Alice Grace. It's so cool how you are using that more expensive fuel in your boat. I am trying to do my bit by not driving anywhere unless it's to the store. Not sure I could put that fuel in my old Toyota have a great weekend so you next Friday. Steve
1
Thank you for another relaxing adventure on the canals looking for a nice cool spot to park your boat. How did your homemade AC work? I have a strange question I hope you don't mind. The other day when I was golfing with my friend Ron he asked me if I had seen any tent caterpillars and I thought about it and it was ages since I have seen one I told him I had a friend in England who knows all about bugs and nature stuff. Hope you don't mind me calling you a friend since we have never met anyway I digress do you have tent caterpillars over there? Maybe they are just natives to the states. The other strange thing is I live on a golf course where there are usually tons of crows which I love to feed so far this summer I have hardly seen any and it concerns me. I care about nature and the changing state of our world. Take care hope you find lots more shade for your boat. Steve
1
Thanks for another voyage on the Alice Grace I love the way you show all the historical plaques and give us time to read them. Also how you identify all the little critters that made the roof of your boat home. I noticed the flag was at half staff I guess it was for the queen. It let's me know that your videos are fairly recent. I bet you are glad the heat wave is over and summer is getting ready to go to sleep for a few months. That little pony was a perfect image. looking forward to next Friday now have a good week Steve
1
wow thanks for the instant reply you are such a kind person it's a feel good thing to get a reply from you. As far as not saving up your vlogs to use not to worry I will miss seeing you but you deserve a vacation......as far as crows go I have only seen 3 or 4 this past month and they are all to shy to eat my crackers we still have lots of deer though. :)
1
Vanessa I saw the coolest video on Owls thought I would share it with you here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYOSKYWg-5E Steve
1
@themindfulnarrowboat I just wanted you to know that I found out that in order to keep a wild bird like an owl in the USA you have to be a licensed falconer I don't like hunting at all I fact I don't even like fishing I care about living things both large and small So it's not likely I will ever have another Owl in fact after watching your vlogs I am seriously considering giving up eating meat. All together. I watched a few videos of hunting using birds of pray that way and it bothered me even when they ate live rats but I do still think owl are so cool Steve
1
Another sweet voyage on the Alice Grace Thanks for sharing all the info about the place where my favorite candy is made. With Easter just around the corner it made me think of the cream filled eggs. I liked the way you tried to describe the smell. Actually I looked it up the eggs over here comes from a factory in Hershey Pa. Mr. Cadbury sounded like such a nice guy to work for someone who actually cared about his employees I watched a couple of times and noticed the bird which you drew in your book at the end I don't think you said what sort of bird it was or did I miss it? Thanks again for bringing us all along see you next Friday Steve
1
Wow this episode really made me think. I watched another video about saving the canals from that guy who does cruising the cut. Something about the government cutting back its share of the funding for the upkeep of the canals. I started to think about my life here in Washington. I spend my day not doing much to help save the world. Things like playing golf and feeding the deer don’t amount to much. Then I thought if I lived there I might be a volunteer perhaps helping people through the locks. That would be nice. We have nothing over here in the states to compare with your canals O people do live on house boats in lake Union did you see the movie Sleepless in Seattle? And others live aboard yachts and sail around the world you my friend are doing so much to inspire people to pay closer attention to history and especially nature. Keep up the good work. Steve
1
Thanks for another fun Friday aboard the Alice Grace. Now I know what a Raven looks like in the wild and that Church was really cool I saw something on you tube the other day that made me think of you I know you had a thing for Otters but I never thought of them as pets. They are such cute little guys and make great little sounds when you pet them don't know what Zeph would think if you had one living aboard :) Steve
1
Thanks for another fine voyage aboard the Alice Grace. That oncoming collision looked to be worse then it was. Looks like no damage done though just wondering do all boaters have insurance for that sort of thing? Love the sounds those Skylarks make. The church was interesting as well . Hope you have a wonderful week see you next Friday :)
1
Missed you so much last Friday my golf course has been covered with snow for two weeks now so nothing to do but play around on my PC. I guessed right what you would draw in your book again. Which is some thing I rarely do there has been a change in my back yard feeding area I have not seen much of my squirrels now I have a couple of mice that eat the food I miss summer badly now. Hope you find a fuel boat soon and a place to get rid of your trash. Take care and have a great week ahead Steve
1
Sorry got mixed up btw I forgot to thanks for your education on mice @themindfulnarrowboat
1
Thanks for another fantastic voyage aboard the Alice Grace I always like it when you manage to overcome hardships. Hose to short to reach the water tank no problem just patch in another one even if you do get a bit wet. I have to ask how did you manage to get that candid video of the badger and I think there was a fox in it as well? I see my favorite name for a narrow boat has been used ...Am a big Harry Potter fan as well have a great week see you next Friday
1
What an interesting voyage. Parts of the city look really cool since watching this video I realized that I can't tell the difference between a crow and a raven can you help me out? I think it's so cool that you are actually printing your book. I am so looking forward to buying an autographed copy. Thanks again for making my Friday really great Steve
1
@themindfulnarrowboat Thanks for the education Vanessa so those were crows in your video then our crows over here look different somehow you always give such thoughtful answers Take care and have a great week :)
1
I am so glad your volgs are back my Fridays are so much better again :) I get lessons in History Food and Nature. Those gates and swing bridges look hard to work you had help from Super girl I see. I loved the little story with you and Zeph and the stick and you get to chat with so many nice people. It's funny the names for a gathering of birds like a siege of Herons I have herd that a gathering of crows is call a Murder? is that correct? I so love your drawings and poetry at the end if you ever publish your book I will be first in line to get one. Thanks again for making my Fridays a day to look forward to. Steve
1
cool little short glad to see something from you hope you and your family are all well. see you next Friday I hope Steve :)
1
How about a cartoon picture of Alice in Wonderland the Disney version with flowers and stuff Just a thought :(
1
"Mindless Narrowboat" That's a good one. Nice to know you are not perfect like the rest of us. It's good to have a sense of humor about stuff like that. Another great voyage on the Alice grace. Once again your close up vids are amazing! So was the sky. I have to ask a silly question. A few vlogs back it looked like you were starting to paint the butterfly on the other side of Alice did I miss something? Or get it wrong like the mindless old man that I am. Have a great week see you next Friday.
1
First off I want to thank you for the education. I never knew bats got that big nor that the fly around in the day time. I think you have a wonderfully well behaved dog who took your directions like a trooper my two little Chi"s would have run off to do their own thing. Now to the highlight of this voyage your poem it was wonderfully done and managed to tell exactly what went wrong and ended on such a positive note. I find hard to accept the story of the knight being carried home by a swan no mater how big it was. I guess it was magic eh? Thanks again for another great vlog. See you next Friday Steve
1
Thanks for being there again Friday is one day I look forward to because of you and your new videos I am so glad you found your little owl, Not wanting to moor on a river is understanding because of that history lesson you gave about that sunken hire boat. I will try again to get your new journal been having problems logging into certain sites because of my new PC. Anyway thanks again for being there and taking us along for the ride. Have great weekend and a great week ahead. Steve
1
It was fun to watch Zephyr actually swing she is a Golden Retriever right? My brother has three of those and loves them very much they are his kids. :) he says.
1
I could not wait to get home from golf to see your new video. All the snow is finally gone so I can play golf again! What sort of birds was it the flocked together to keep warm? I must have missed it. That dear was so cool. A while back you did a bit about Beatrix Potter I found a very good movie about her on You Tube movies called Ms Potter staring the same lady who did Bridget Jones if you have not seen it hope you will it’s a very good watch. Makes me wish I would kept all the little books my mom gave me when I was a kid. Thanks for being there and making my Friday great. Have a great week ahead Steve
1
Wish I had a back yard like you :) Thanks for sharing another view of my favorite bird well maybe the owl has taken his place ? love the garden on your front bumper the best 20 mins of my Friday again! Great poem as well Steve
1
Vanessa another great Friday thanks to you. I have to admit I have been in a low mood all week. It's been snowing which totally ruins my favorite thing I do: Playing golf. It is such a big part of my world now and I really need to get back to it. One of the things I think about when I am down is the people of Ukraine and how they are suffering now. One of my biggest fears is living without electricity but the coolest thing about your world is you are off the grid and you carry your power with you. It amazes my how you manage to find something new to show us in your vlogs for example I have never seen a green woodpecker before and now I have also you take the most fantastic shot's of sunsets and sun rises I have ever seen. So thanks again for making my Fridays something to look forward to. Steve
1
What a great video to start the year off I see why you were grateful to Richard and Donna. It would seam to be a major task to go up that many stair case locks. Your stories about Alf and why the locks were called "The stairway to heaven" were very interesting. I agree colors change with the seasons I was especially impressed with the duck with the bright blue head. Looking forward to many more happy Fridays in 2023 Steve
1
Don't think I have ever seen a glow worm before. Or a firefly either for that matter. They must be hard to spot from what I can see. There were so many interesting birds in this video like the one with the long pointed beak that you drew in your journal .I got my book from you to think I may have seen you going to the post office with my book and so many others to mail out. Thanks so much for that and for the little bookmarks as well. Have a great week see you next Friday Steve
1
How many narrowboats have the same name as yours ? I have learned a lot watching your videos thank you :)
1
Thanks for floating our boat. I am now watching them as well you are still my favorite. I love the way you maintain an even strain no matter what goes wrong. I am so glad you found the elusive Otter. I must confess there are a few other vlogs I have watched like Foxes Afloat and Cruising the Cut. And the pirate lady on the Rum Wench. Have you met any of these people on your travels? Another fantastic sun set and that big moon you are so good at this stuff. Steve
1
Thanks for listing all the reason you love narrow boating. I think there lots of people who would love doing what you do including me. So the next best thing is watching your videos going on that narrow lock by the would test you skills not wanting to hit sides. That night cam is cool the way you can catch the little critters doing what they do in the dark so thanks again for the nature and history lessons Loved the old time steam train. I worked for the railroad over hear until I retired. Thanks again have a nice week and happy Easter. Steve
1
Another great vlog your story about the fox was very interesting. I was sorry to here about the tonsillitis I had that several times when I was a kid until they finally took them out. The only good part was all the ice cream I got to eat. I also liked what you had to say about the Queen even here in America it came as a shock. It sometimes seamed like she would be around forever like she had been my whole life. I could tell that you had feelings for her. You are a very good human being. A big reason I look forward to Friday for the next adventure. Steve
1
Wow! another tunnel this time with two boats coming toward you wanting to pass. That was a lot of excitement for one day. And you found your bat ! Did you ever get the chance to check out that girl and her Kestrel ? . The shots that you took near and before dark were so cool. With the sunsets and sunrises. And I see Zeph had another swim he does have a lot of energy Thanks for another voyage on The Alice Grace see you next Friday Steve
1
@themindfulnarrowboat Thanks for your quick reply. I agree with you as to having mixed feelings about Falconry. I started thinking the same may be true for the baby owl that I took home. Perhaps I was not doing it any favor by taking it home with me for the same reasons you mentioned I have been following this guy in England called Mercer Falconry he seams to be a caring guy and has an quite a few different birds in his care including an owl but I don't think I could ever get into the sport too old anyway. Thanks for being my friend Steve
1
The blue headed red breasted bird before the Wagtail was a kingfisher right? I am really starting to get into birds. lately thanks in part to all the great trips you have shared with us in the last year. The book you bought about Packwood House with the paintings reminded me of the artwork you do every week in your book. I have to admit I am a bit partial to yours perhaps because it's on the wall in my den. Or maybe because you let us watch you draw at the end of each vlog you are a great artiest Vanessa and I am a big fan see you next Friday and thanks again for being in the world. Steve
1
This is so much fun Vanessa going back to look at what you were doing in 2022 and following along with your journal. Some times your poetry goes by so fast in your vids it's hard to follow not I can really see the beauty in your poems I do miss the monkey but I can see now the daisy and the butterfly shows more of what you are about thanks again for being there Steve
1
I am so glad I have my PC back I have had a really bad couple of weeks I was in a dark place for a while but that's all changed thanks to you and your videos. You have taught my self and so many others to be mindful of the small blessings in life in the form of aunts, sparkling water and orange tipped butterflies along with cuckoo flowers and birds. It was too bad you could not get the Lamas to come to you, Did you offer them treats? I also love the way you chose to honor you uncle and aunt I too am old but not quite that old and still mindful of the short time I have left on this earth. So thanks again for being there and lifting my sprits see you next Friday.
1
Well another Mindful trip thanks again for taking my mind off all the sadness going on now in the world. On this voyage I noticed your more feisty side. The way you scolded the Swans to bad you can not do the same thing with the Russian president. Perhaps there would be no more of the fighting malarkey in Ukraine world problem solved. Wish it could be that simple. I enjoyed the one sided romance between Zeph and the horse. Have a good week and take. PS how much did you charge Mr. M for the bread? Steve

I realized today how flexible you have to be when running a narrowboat. The way you had to backtrack to find a good parking spot. You always seem to manage to get the best nature videos that snail was something you don't see every day as well as the bat bunker. It's better then nature shows on PBS thanks again for making my Friday better ... Steve

Vanessa I have to start out by saying this was my favorite episode I watched this one 4 times. For one thing you talked about my all time favorite bird. I have always been attracted to birds of pray but to me the peregrine falcon was and is the best of the best. I grew up in the desert in southern California there were not any of those around but I did find my favorite all time pet. One day when I walking around the desert I came across a baby owl and in my mind he became my peregrine he was to young fly must have fallen out of the nest or something I took him home and raised him he made this funny clicking sound when ever I got too close and he used to love to eat hotdogs without the bun. I named him Lord Malcom Wol. and and he used to love sitting on my gloved had much like a Falcon. My friends were all amazed and my bird and a bit jealous. Eventually when he grew up I let him go and watched him fly out of my life forever but I will always remember him. On another subject I have been watching on the news what political turmoil you country is in which is I must mention is my all time favorite country. It's the same over here. I have never seen so much hatred and division between people of different political views and I must say I worry about you my English friend. Take care and I do hope this all works out for the good in the near future.

@themindfulnarrowboat not sure but my best guess was a Mottled Owl he was not as pretty as the White Owl that Hagred gave Hairy Potter not even sure if he was a girl or a guy but he or she made a big impact on me. Thanks again for making the world a better place to live see you next Friday June 13, 2017

Is "Bumble geese? Is that really their name? Liked your poem very much this week so perfectly described your surroundings. Once again our golf course is covered in snow. Have only been able to play twice in the last 14 days so was sort of down in the dumps thanks for your twenty minutes of calm and mindfulness as Sherley said. Still don't understand what scared you so much in the tunnel was it Mr. M making that noise? There was a blue feathered bird in the video about in the middle what sort of bird was that? Thanks again for your video. See you next week hope I am in a better mood by then. Steve :)

I just finished watching the news and I felt so depressed. Then I watched you lovely vlog and I felt so much better you really are doing a public service. You managed to capture so much beauty in nature and the bread sounded good as well thanks again Steve

So good to see your smiling face on You Tube again. Fridays are just not the same when you are not there. It looks like rivers in some way are a bit more difficult to travel on then the canals. As far as butterflies go I must admit I am partial to the Peacock one with the bright colors and eyes on it's wing. I guess it comes from growing up in the 60s the age of hippies and Tye Die tee shirts thanks again for another voyage see you next Friday. Steve

Thanks for another voyage on the Alice Grace. The graveyard of ships was most interesting and the video of the Owl. Before I forget I wanted to tell about my new hobby sort of. Remember I told you about the crows being gone. Well they are still gone but now I carry a bag of apples in my golf cart to feed the Deer and their little babies also I wanted to ask about your sailboat little Alice I a long time ago I used to have one that looked very much the same as yours I had loads of fun with that little boat it was called an El Toro but don't imagine they call it that there. Anyway don't want to ramble on but wanted to let you know I ordered one of your books on Espy can't wait to get it. Steve
