Ah, remember Trump’s first Easter as president? He tried to get out of doing anything, before relenting to public pressure. First, his Christianity is scant at best, so it has never been one of his priorities. Second, he didn’t want to do anything Obama had done, in his vindictive bid to eliminate all things Obama. And third, it cut into his golf weekend. He fixed that by playing golf as he is want to do, but then having a scaled down egg roll during the week after Easter. One could say he also had a forth consideration as well, the cost, but since his golf trips cost millions, his saving pennies on an egg roll is a ridiculous assertion

Tina Carson No argument with me on the pagan elements of Easter, nor on attending (or not attending) a church, requiring a middleman to speak to God (one of my favorite refrains: if you need a middleman to speak to God, you aren’t speaking to God, but to a middleman instead). Unfortunately though, the resurrection is also pagan, starting with Innana in Ancient Sumer, to Osiris in Ancient Egypt, to the Ancient Greeks & Ancient Norse, to obscure ancient tribes across Africa. ALL of which precede Christianity by thousands of years. Resurrection is a recurring theme. In the spirit of that rebirth, Spring theme, I wish you well also.
BUT, you are greatly mistaken if you think my criticism of Trump is on the superficiality of outward appearances. Pussygrabbing, child stealing & caging, genocide enabling Trump does not exhibit Christian values... EVER. I am judging his actions & intentions. I am judging his White Nationalist cult rallies. I am judging the way he speaks about people he doesn’t like, then how he enacts policies that vehemently attack them. He disgusts me. And so-called Evangelicals who give him mulligans for those heinous actions are just as disgusting. One might even call them deplorable 🤔 The Evangelicals only support him because of what they think they can get out of him, such as hardcore conservative judges. Trump is called a “transactional president,” but the Evangelicals are doing their own transactional calculus supporting him, the ends justifying the means
