@meh23p unfortunately for you, Iran didn't exist until the Islamic revolution. that region used to be kingdoms, most of them were azeri kingdom. none of them were armenian. if you spend 5-10 minutes researching so called "Iranian" dynasties, you will be surprised to find out.. almost all of them were turk-azeri dynasties

@meh23p russia-persian war was the cause. russians wanted to secure the south caucuses, they forced christian Armenians to move there. they made a deal against azeri and persian shia muslims. later a lot of armenians will participate in the red revolution and move further north to north caucuses. back then armenians were the only demographic that supported russia in perisa and russians moved them into south caucuses region. this is pure geopolitics.

Assyria did exist but not in south caucuses. russia made a rebranding for them for geopolitical gains.

South Caucuses is about to get integrated into one economic zone under Turkey. Armenian elites are trying to make 180 on their rhetoric and it takes time. The conflict can be settled peacefully if armenians give up animosity towards turks. South Caucuses will be free trade zone between Azeri, Armenia, Georgia and Turkey... and takes time for armenians to settle down and make peace with the neighbours.

democracy is just a dogma of modern religion. one has to accept and bow down to the dogma to be considered modern and progressive. another irony of the situation is shia Iran supporting a christian(or godless) Armenia against shia Azerbaijan. this conflict proves that Iran is a fake muslim country.
