  2. I heard that rumour but it doesn't seem likely. More likely is Lloyd Austin is scared for his job and didn't want to show any weakness by telling anyone he's going for an operation. He probably expected to be out in a couple of hours but the operation went wrong and he was stuck in there for days with no means to communicate with his staff, possibly because his chief of staff had flu. Or possibly because he was too sick to even try to contact anyone. Anyway we'll probably never know the truth.
