Cost of housing vs wages in Britain has exploded due to immigration.

So nothing to do with importing millions of benefits seeking grifters then?!

@jimpaddy79 Nice theory but it's not actually true. Roughly 80% of immigrants cost more than they contribute. On average immigrants from other Western countries contribute more than they cost but on average immigrants from less developed parts of the world cost more despite their younger age profile. And same story elsewhere. University of Copenhagen did a good study on this and more recently the University of Amsterdam. They found immigration in Netherlands cost 400 billion in total, they basically squandered their entire North Sea gas wealth to make their country less cohesive, more overcrowded, more violent and more dysfunctional. Check it out.

Yeah but if you had to hire people to work in your company the last ones you want are the mentally ill.

@j.l.w9563 Not actually a bad system to allow employers complete freedom because in a limited labour market then employers would have to compete for competent staff. The problem is, employers also have an endless flow of immigrants to push down wages as well so employers have all the power and employees have too little.

@j.l.w9563 Yes the thumb is definitely on the scale against small businesses. It's not so much taxation, it's regulation which big business loves because big companies have the scale to navigate it. And that includes regulation around employment law.

@Carl-hs420a Incorrect, over and over politicians promise to fix immigration but it never happens. The electorate never voted for immigration, it's a project imposed by the political elite and their sponsors in the City who benefit short term from lower wages.

LOL I once saw a contract advertised which required five years experience in a version of a tool which was only two years old. I learned to just say "yes" when asked in interviews whether I'd used a particular tool. Never had a problem picking up what's required when I'm in the contract.

At this point, we're basically working and paying taxes to subsidise our own replacement and colonisation by people who hate us.

I think you might be missing the main point. Some ex mining communities now have higher disability rates amongst working age people than they did when they were actually mining communities,. Despite that most working age men were subject to industrial accidents, lung cancer and all kinds of other mine related poisoning, there's higher disability .rates now. Not to discount the modern lifestyle being unhealthy, you're surely right about that but there's more to it than that

@Fay-i2s "lack of building houses" - engage your brain please. Since almost all of the increase in population is due to immigration, why would there need to be so many houses built without immigration? Study found 89% of the increase in cost of housing is due to immigration. Google it

@kylethompson1379 One study found 89% of the increase in UK house prices is due to immigration
